Key Online Fax Features
There are several features to look for when selecting the right online fax service for your needs. The amount of users included, free trial limitations and the amount of included fax pages are all key factors you should evaluate before making any decisions.
Email Fax Users:
A user is simply an email address that is authorized to send/receive faxes through his/her email account. For example, if you have five users (email accounts) with your web fax service, then all email accounts would receive notifications when a fax is sent or received. Also, each email address tied to the account would be able to send faxes directly through their email program (i.e. Outlook, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) as opposed to the web fax service's online interface.

Fax Pages in Online Fax Plans:
Your monthly fee includes a set amount of allotted fax pages that can be used within a given month. Watch out for hidden fees and regulations, though; just because a service says you are allotted 300 fax pages doesn’t necessarily mean you can use these 300 pages any way you want. Oftentimes you are limited to a specific amount of incoming pages and a specific amount of outgoing pages. For example, a fax service provider may say you have 300 pages to use in a month but you can only receive 200, meaning you are also limited to 100 outgoing fax pages. Some fax services take the guesswork out of this by combining the pages and letting you use them however you desire. It should also be noted that some companies do not charge a monthly fee at all but, rather, charge by pages used.

Online Fax Free Trial Limitations:
Oftentimes online fax services will include a free trial with their product to give you a chance to test a certain plan before you purchase it. When using a free trial it, is extremely important to read the fine print to avoid being unknowingly charged. For example, some fax service companies will send you a message when your free trial is over asking if you would like to purchase a full plan, while others will automatically enroll you into a new account and charge you for the first month if you do not cancel before the trial period is over. It is also important to keep an eye on the amount of pages included with the free trial in order to prevent unwanted overage charges.
