Fax Number Options
SRFax offers local numbers in 65 cities in 13 States, plus 40 cities in Canada. When selecting a local number, the service allows you to choose by both area code and city. SRFax also offers (866), (877), and (888) toll-free numbers for no additional charge. They will also port a number into your account for $25, as long as your area is covered by their service.
Sending and Receiving Faxes
During testing, we found that faxes sent through SRFax displayed clear text, and transmitted images were of good quality. SRFax allows you to attach up to five documents to a single fax. You may send a single fax to up to 50 recipients at a time. SRFax does not allow you to preview a fax before it is sent. Faxes may be scheduled for later delivery in 30 minute time blocks from 1 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. the next day. SRFax will store your faxes for free for an unlimited amount of time, which by far exceeds the typical 30 days of storage. SRFax will allow you to create a "blocked" number list where your account isn't charged for faxes from numbers that you label as blocked. SRFax is Mac-compatible. Nine email addresses can send faxes and an unlimited number of email addresses can receive faxes.
Pricing
SRFax charges $9.95 per month to send and receive up to 500 pages. This roughly translates into two cents per page, which is cheaper than many other services we've reviewed. Pages are combined with this plan which means you don't have to take into account whether you send more faxes or receive more, since every page is deducted from your total allotment of 500 pages. SRFax offers an annual prepayment discount of $108 per year. This comes out to $9 per month and is a savings of 9.5%. Overage rates of six cents per page are applied to any faxes sent or received over your monthly allotment. This is a much lower rate than typical overage rates of 10 cents per page. SRFax offers a free trial period of 60 days.
Customer Support
SRFax provides FAQs, user guides, downloads, phone support, and email support for customer service. Phone support is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST. We found SRFax to have some of the most knowledgeable support techs in their field.
