Conclusion:

However, we recently received multiple inquiries about Nextiva experiencing outages. Nextiva confirmed these outages to us and told us they added three to four servers to fix the problem. Nextiva has local fax numbers available in 44 states but doesn't offer toll-free fax numbers. Nextiva's fax quality is high, and their customer support is very helpful. Nextiva offers a 30-day free trial to test out their online fax service.

Fax Number Options

Nextiva has local fax numbers available in 44 states, as well as British Columbia and Ontario. When choosing your local number, you choose by area code. They do not offer any toll free fax numbers. To port a number in and out, it costs $5.95.

Sending and Receiving Faxes

The faxes received through Nextiva are of high quality with very clear images. You can fax an unlimited number of documents at once to as many as five recipients.  You are able to preview a fax before you send it as well as schedule the delivery of your faxes. With Nextiva, you can store faxes for up to one year, which is much longer than the 30 days most typical services offer. The vendor is Mac-compatible. You can send faxes from one email address and receive faxes at five email addresses.

Pricing

The “Single User” plan costs $8.95 per month and comes with 500 combined free incoming and outgoing pages. The price per page is only two cents, which is cheaper than the pricing for most services we've reviewed. They offer a prepayment discount of $59.40 per year, which comes out to $4.95 a month. At only three cents per page, the incoming and outgoing overage pages are much cheaper than the overage rates for many other services we've reviewed. They offer a free trial period of 30 days.

Customer Support

Nextiva's customer service support includes phone, email, FAQ, and an online troubleshooter. Their phone customer support hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. MST with an average wait time. We found their customer support to be very helpful and they responded thoroughly to all of our questions.
