Conclusion:

GotFax stacks up well to other online fax services for price and number of included fax pages but charges a $9.99 start-up fee, which many other services don't charge. GotFax offers only (866) and (877) numbers; GotFax doesn't offer local numbers. GotFax has decent customer service and a 14-day free trial.

Fax Number Options

GotFax does not offer local numbers for faxing, but they do offer (866) and (877) toll-free numbers. This service will not port numbers.

Sending and Receiving Faxes

GotFax will allow you to attach up to 2 MB of documents to each fax. You may send each fax to up to 20 recipients at one time. GotFax will not allow you to preview a fax before it is sent, nor will they let you schedule delivery of a fax for a later time period. The service will store your faxes online for up to 30 days, which is the typical time online fax services offer. GotFax is Mac-compatible and allows you to send and receive faxes using up to six email addresses.

Pricing

GotFax charges $9.95 per month plus a one time $9.95 start-up fee, which is not standard with online fax services, to send or receive up to 300 combined pages per month. The price equates to what most online fax services charge (not including the start-up fee). GotFax also offers a prepaid annual plan of $107.64 per year ($8.99 per month), which saves you 9.8%. Pages sent or received over your monthly allotment are charged 10 cents per page, which is the standard overage price typical online fax services charge. GotFax also offers a free trial period of 14 days.

Customer Support

GotFax offers both phone and email customer support. Phone support is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET. During testing, we called and initially received no answer. But, when we called back an hour later, we were immediately answered and experienced average customer service.
